Rolling hills, pasture, timber and fertile crop ground -- Welcome to our farm in southwest Iowa! Agriculture has been a predominant occupation in both of our families for several generations.

Long and Sons Limousin was established in 1970. William was one of the original "Sons" in Long and Sons Limousin. He purchased the registered purebred Limousin cattle herd from his father in 1996.

Long and Sons Cattle Company began in 2003 when we integrated Red Angus genetics into a select group of our Limousin cattle. Although we are partial to Limousin cattle, we feel this crossbreeding program allows us to be more successful in certain segments of the beef industry.

We maintain a herd of 120 registered cows for whom we have high expectations -- a live calf each year, high-quality milking ability, excellent maternal instincts and a good disposition. Each year we offer approximately 30 yearling and two-year old bulls for sale, in addition to bred heifers and cows.

Besides raising cattle, William is active in his father's farming operation of corn, soybeans and hay. Sarah, a former middle school science teacher, currently is a stay-at-home mom. She manages the cattle registrations and record keeping.

Raising quality cattle has been a life-long passion and we look forward to instilling the honest and rewarding values of farm life in our three sons -- the next generation of "Long and Sons".
